I'm currently using my slingbox with BEV PVR and my Hava Box with an Asus O!Play and a second BEV PVR. This avoids the nasty lag between sending the command and it reflecting in the stream. You can pause locally and let it time-slip. It is good for when you are out of town and watching remotely. I did use the local recording functionality once or twice when I first got it, but it was a bit redundent given that I was streaming from a BEV PVR. Crappy, but like I said, it is a more polished and user friendly app.

The geniuses at Sling feel it necessary for you to pay for both the iPhone app and the iPad app separately. The Vulkano player is the new current offering and is free for iOS devices.

The Hava software is the older generation of the software and does not work on iOS devices. You get used to it, but it is really annoying if you need to go through many commands. I could never get the bit rates as high on Vulkano and there is a much more noticeable lag when sending commands. The software is not as polished as the Slingbox. If you are used to the Slingbox, you probably won't like the Vulkano. I also have access to an iPad and Mac at work so I'd be happy to load the software and let you know how it works when I have it all setup. I looked around and have thus far been unable to find a Canadian using one. Technoslick wrote: ↑The units are very new.
